We’re at that point in the season where all our 2017 electric bikes are coming into stock. We now have the following 2017 Kalkhoff electric bikes in stock in our warehouse and showrooms, along with 2017 models from Scott, Cube & Haibike.
2017 Kalkhoffs in stock
Kalkhoff kindly invited a couple of us to spend the last weekend in February with them in Mallorca. They invite all their favourite dealers to the island every few years mainly as a “Thank you” but also as an opportunity to introduce new products and ideas. Continue reading “Kalkhoff Mallorca 2017 E-Bike Showcase”
A new folding electric bike joined our range this week, the first in many years. The Hercules Rob Fold F8 from Germany has it all – Bosch motor, 400Wh or 500Wh battery capacity options, 8-speed Shimano Nexus hub gears, lights, luggage rack, kick stand, hydraulic brakes, mudguards. Melanie Reid writes in today’s Times about how electric bikes are emerging as a favourite gift this Christmas.
“When things come in clusters, you know you have a trend on your hands. Randomly, at least three girlfriends have announced they want an electric bike for Christmas.”
She continues with a brisk summary of the benefits of electric bikes: how the rider feels younger, is transported back in time to the youthful joy of cycling, “the feeling of being nine years old again and everything works”. Continue reading “An electric bike Christmas”
We have a queue of electric bikes to sell in our special Sayonara Sale clearance category. Continue reading “Electric bike bargains in our Sayonara Sale”
There are kids electric bikes now?
Electric bikes have long been popular with older riders, people who would otherwise write off cycling but find that electric bikes are a great way to get around.
But what about cyclists at the other end of the age scale? Why would a child want to ride an electric bike? Do kids electric bikes even exist? Should they? Continue reading “Riding to School on an Electric Bike”
The Cycle Show 2016 is now in full swing at the Birmingham NEC. We attended our first Cycle Show in London back in 2004 with a somewhat home-made stand. It was actually a great success for us at a time when electric bikes weren’t even really a niche product. Today they’re an established and growing segment of the bicycle market and our early start means we’re still leading the way.

You have to see these Kalkhoff E-Bike videos from California
The New Wheel electric bike store in San Francisco does a roaring trade in Kalkhoff e-bikes. As you’d expect from a Bay Area business, they’re very slick and have recently produced a series of exceedingly professional and informative video reviews of three key 2016 Kalkhoff models, all of them using the Impulse Evo system.
If you’re reading this email on the West Coast of the US, you should definitely pay The New Wheel a visit and give them your business.
Which of our current bikes would you most like to see a video review of on our website? Some of our team are keen to see what we can do.
That’s all for now, thank you for reading.
