Most bike lamps on the market rely on a reflecting light cup to focus the beam, but this only focuses the central part, leaving the remaining light energy to disperse uselessly.

We set ourselves the task of producing the ultimate light beam from a light, convenient, rechargeable unit. First we experimented with a single lens but the performance was still not good with shadowing and dimming around the edges. Next, we tried many lense and LED combinations before finally succeeding with a novel photonic arrangment of 6 lenses. This removed all the faults and produced a an intensely perfect beam with even lighting across its width.

Incredibly, there is only a single 3 Watt LED at work here but the light intensity emitted through our lenses reaches up to 540 lumens within 1 meter. We've also maximised performance and battery life by using a novel heat-sink structure around the LED, which promotes optimal energy efficency and maximum light output from each charge.
Together these advances make the NukeLight uniquely compact, powerful and (at around the half the price of lamps of comparable brightness) relatively inexpensive.

Very capable front light bright enough for commutes, yet light enough for the best bike
Road.cc, 4 February 2010
Something a wolf in sheep’s clothing, the Nuke Light enjoys neat, albeit slightly boxy styling and a small lens suggesting very meagre output. However, clever optics and several settings ensure you can see and be seen - even on pitch-black rural roads. Convenient run times, a choice of either mains or USB charging coupled with keen pricing means its one of the best compact designs I’ve used in a very long time. Read full review
Great for photography
Beano, 1 January 2010
I bought a Nukelight to light up my way home along the Regent's Canal in London. Well, it turns out that it has many other uses - it gives a great spotlight effect when taking photographs in clubs and pubs. I can see the paparazzi picking up on this soon. Impressive and distinctive. Even more unexpected, I'm able to use it as a reading lamp by pointing it straight at the ceiling - the light reflected back down is perfect. Yes, the nukelight is so bright that even secondhand light from it is useful! Incredible little gadget, go get one!
Blinded by the light
The Red Ferret, 1 December 2009
The NukeLight is a ‘high intensity’ bicycle lamp which has been designed to dazzle anyone in its path with a beam of pure electron pulse-wave, neutrino based boron enhanced photons. Or something. The result is a beam which can blind a rabbit at 100 metres. A somewhat positive side-effect of all this bright-eyes stuff is the fact that it may help you avoid being flattened by a bus as you cycle home. Which is a Good Thing. Oh and you can also charge it via USB. $70.00 ish.
Nuke Light May Be Everything Cyclists Need
(and a pretty cheap Christmas gift too)
Softpedia Gadgets, 7 December 2009
You know, with Christmas coming and all, we need to think about stocking up on gifts, from the more expensive gifts for our wives, girlfriends, secretaries or female neighbors to less expensive ones for that relative that you never liked but seems to always come by at Christmas in order to bring you warm thoughts. I mean, you've conspired to kill each other every other day of the year, you could at least be civil at Christmas.
And because running him or her down with your car at night might seem less satisfying if he or she didn't have a warning light attached to his or her bike, you could offer her or him the new Nuke Light from 50cycles. The Nuke Light is the perfect Christmas gift for cycle commuters and off-road mountain bike riders. Of course, it can also be used by military and security personnel or campers as well. USB rechargeable and extremely portable, the Nuke Light emits a maximum luminous flux of 130 lumens or up to 540 lumens within 1 meter.
It features four-step adjustable brightness and two modes: continuous and flashing. As far as battery life is concerned, at maximum intensity, it will last you for 3 hours and 20 minutes, while minimum intensity is guaranteed to offer you a lifetime of 15 hours. Going for the flashing SOS mode will keep it alive for 40 hours. It is water resistant and... like I mentioned before, it can be charged via USB or an AC adapter.
At 320mA, it has a maximum lifespan of 50,000 hours. It comes with a cycle mounting bracket and weighs only 150G. If you're curious about pricing, it can be yours for 42.56 Euros or about 70 dollars if you live in the US.
