2014 Kalkhoff Agattu ebike, silver, step-thru frame, 8 speed Shimano, heavy duty XXL model
Lady-owned German top quality ebike, in excellent order and was used maybe 700 miles in total over the past 2 years, on approx 30 medium length trips. The 15Ah 36v battery retains full charge capacity, and is capable of over 70 miles with mid level assist.Spring suspension and comfortable seat and adjustable handlebar rear view mirror, rear pannier rack, puncture resistant 26" tyres showing very little wear. Riding the ebike is like someone giving you a gentle push along as you pedal, makes light work of hills or headwinds. This ebike is rated to carry something like 170 kg load capacity, I'm 64kg, so it hasn't been abused! Freewheel Shimano Dynamo hub powers the excellent lights.
This ebike uses a mid drive motor, coupled to the twist-grip gear change via 8 speed Shimano nexus internal gear hub, all very easy to use, and has excellent Magura hydraulic rim brakes. The chain drive is covered for the most part to protect your clothing, and the front suspension forks are both lockable and adjustable for dampening resistance, according to your preference and road conditions.
The bike has excellent lighting front and rear provided by a Shimano freewheeling front hub Dynamo, which is frictionless. It also has an adjustable bike stand. Very well maintained and looked after.
Mains charger can charge the battery either on or off the bike. The charge when full is measurable at 41.6 volts, and the Kalkhoff battery is recognised as the industry-leading battery for recharging capacity, offering 1,100 full discharge to recharge cycles before performance drops significantly (and proportionately more for partial discharge/recharge cycles); this is more than double the nearest competitor mid-motor ebike battery specification, and was one of my main buying criteria (battery longevity). May consider selling without battery included, if buyer is thinking of buying brand new battery, but any test ride welcome. I would happily retain this battery for use on my new bike.
The (2) identical keys provided unlock both the battery and the handy on-board rear wheel bike lock. There is also a pump attached to the rear rack.
Bought in April 2014 new from 50Cycles, this ebike cost £1695; asking price is £1000, with the buyer to uplift or arrange carriage, though I can offer stout cardboard packaging box suitable for carriage if this is desired.
Selling this bike as I've recently upgraded to another Kalkhoff!
