Safety
Taga was designed to allow safe riding and strolling with kids. Its 3-wheel structure enables safe mounting and dismounting of the child, offering safer riding than a standard bike. The child is positioned low and centered between the handlebars, close to the parent and protected.
Taga has strong five-point harness and a special head cushion that guards the child at all times, while the fully sealed chain guard ensures that no clothes or body parts are trapped.
Taga has advanced disk brakes on the front wheels and Shimano roller brake on the rear wheel. Its easy-to-operate parking brake makes sure that Taga will stay in place when parked in all modes.
Taga's frame is made of extra-thick aluminum alloy tubes and is much more rigid than a standard bicycle, perfect for carrying high loads. Taga was tested both as a stroller and as a tricycle in accredited European lab and in fact it is the only product in the world that complies with both stroller and bicycle standards.
Taga is certified with the following safety standards:
EN1888 - European stroller standard
EN14764 - European city bicycle standard
EN71 part 2+3 - European flammability and toxicity standard for baby products
EN14184 - Formaldehyde testing
BS5852 - UK flammability tests (relevant only for Taga sold in the UK)
Taga Reviews & Awards
Taga Bicycle and Pram
reddot Design Award 2009
Taga is a multifunctional urban vehicle, uniquely designed to suit the needs of today’s parents and children. It combines the advantages of a first-class baby carriage with those of a bicycle to a new kind of mobility device. Taga is an ecological vehicle in that it can be taken along on public transportation. It is easily disassembled for storage and can be fitted with a wide array of accessories, including a two-seater, sun and rain hoods, a shopping basket, a car seat or a carrycot.
Velo Vision Review
Velo Vision Magazine, June 2009
The Taga is a very finished design, with the 'product design' look of a high-end consumer item, rather than the functionality of a typical bicycle... overall the Taga is an impressive bit of kit. It did attract masses of positive attention even during our brief ride. The versatility on offer and smart appearance do seem to be very attractive even for non-cyclists...
As an upright trike, the Taga is easy to for non-cyclists to jump on and go... after just a few minutes it's very manageable... stability is easily sufficient in everyday riding to cause no concerns. It coped fine - even with the small wheels - with some fairly heavy potholes and speed bumps. I did unintentionally lift a wheel on off-camber surfaces but easily recovered.
The gearing is fairly low anyway - you won't want to go to fast with a child on board, and high speeds shouldn't be necessary for the relatively short-distance urban transport tasks for which it was designed. The hub shifts smoothly under load or not: a good choice for ease of use and reliability. Brakes were also very good, even on thse new 'just out of the box' trikes which hadn't had a chance for the disks to wear in. The front brakes did seem well balanced.
The versatility of these trikes could be one way to integrate cycling back into parenthood, and if they can do that for your family, they'll be well worth the cost.
Taga Stroller-Bike is Kid-Carrying Cruiser
Wired GadgetLab May 2009
I used to laugh at “off-road” pushchairs and strollers, putting these disk-brake-equipped baby-carriers somewhere alongside the SUV on the map of urban overkill. Then a friend told me he uses his high-tech stroller to go jogging with the kids. I didn’t think he should be jogging (nobody should be jogging), but I relented on the disk-brake issue.
Here, though, is a far more civilized device, a trike with seats up front for the rugrats. If I ever enter the horrors of parenthood, I might opt for one — if only so I can poke the kids out in front to check out the more dangerous blind junctions. The aluminum Taga comes equipped with a pair of disk brakes (of course) on the front wheels and a roller brake on the back, plus a parking brake, and three speed Shimano Nexus gears.
But what about when the kids grow up? Well, the Taga will also convert into a standalone (roll-alone?) bike, as well as transforming into a more normal, bike-less stroller. These are rather pointless, we guess, and it might be better to just add a kiddie-carrying trailer to the back of a regular bike, but the folding does come in handy in other ways — it folds up so you can carry it in the car. Or more likely, the SUV.
Taga Stroller Trike
Coolest Gadgets May 2009
Ah, strollers. For those of you who don’t know the fun of wheeling a baby around all day, you are in for quite a treat. Welcome to days of wearing both your arms and legs out as junior gets pushed around to places that may or not be compatible for wheels.
When my wife and I had our second child, we decided to buy one of those double strollers. Although they “conveniently” hold two kids, they really are hard to get around. What I would have given for the Taga stroller/trike. As you can see, the parent sits in a seat behind the tykes and pedals them to places.
Now, I’m not certain if this is something that you want to take to the zoo or something. After all, do you really want to be the parent who is zipping around on a trike, endangering all the other animal-spectators?
No, the Taga stroller trike is something that you probably want to take on a bike trail, and have a blast cruising many miles until your tykes need a feeding or a diaper change.
The Taga stroller trike can fold up and fit in the trunk. It also has covered seats for rainy weather. Right now, it is only available in Europe, but it really is needed all across the world.
Taga: it’s not just a bike or a stroller, it’s a multifunctional people carrier!
Gizmag December 2008
When you first see the Taga you wonder why nobody thought of this sooner? The concept itself is brilliant. This machine has taken all the benefits of a bike and a stroller and put them together in one unique package.
The stroller feature has two reclining positions and is suitable from birth to toddlers. It can also be used by older children as a bicycle.
Taga was developed by a team of industrial designers and mechanical engineers over a period of four years. The frame is made from aluminum alloy which is strong enough to carry heavy loads and it has internal Shimano gears and front and rear brakes.
The stability of the three-wheel structure ensures that the child is secure when dismounting and the five-point harness and head cushion help to keep the child safe. The chain is contained within a fully sealed chain guard so there is no chance of getting little body parts or clothes caught.
The parking brake is operated by hand in bike and stroller mode and the stroller fabric is available in red, green, cyan and orange, is non-flammable and can be removed for cleaning. The Taga stroller also has a hood and rain cover. There are some exciting additions to come including a car-seat adaptor, a wooden double seat, shopping basket and extra protection guard feature.
Convertible Bicycle and Stroller in One
Springwise May 2009
A recent winner of the Red Dot Design Award, the Taga bike uses simple click-to fit technology that allows it to be switched from stroller mode to bicycle mode in just 20 seconds. Child seating can be reclined for a sleeping little one, and there's both a hood and rain guard for protection against the elements. Future options will include seating for two children, a car seat adapter, a cart mode, a wooden double seat and extra front-end protection.

Taga is currently available to test ride in South West London (Kingston, Richmond, Surbiton, Hampton and Wimbledon areas) and will soon be available in Oxford and our Loughborough headquarters.
