The idea of 50cycles Electric Bikes became a reality one day in August 2003 when our first electric bike arrived in the UK. It was a little Honda Step Compo that had been hand-packed and despatch from Tokyo by my brother and 50cycles co-founder Scott Snaith. The very same bike was stolen from us late last year, but now it’s back in our possession and on display in our new London showroom. Continue reading “Our first ever electric bike was stolen. Here’s how we got it back.”
We’re exhibiting at the Cycle Show 2016 at Birmingham’s NEC and we’re bringing more bikes to see and test ride than ever before.
We’ve always put electric bike reviews at the centre of our website. I remember the first review we ever received, from one of our Honda Step Compo owners, back in 2003. But this one is one of the best.
Ex-Display Electric Bikes
We’re clearing last season’s Kalkhoff and Focus ex-display electric bikes from our showrooms, so it’s a great time to pick up a bargain for yourself, a relative or friend.
Some of these bikes have no miles at all, some have a few dozen and a small number have clocked up hundreds of miles in short test rides. They’ve all been regularly cleaned, checked and serviced. Continue reading “Ex-Display Electric Bikes”
It’s Kalkhoff’s flagship model for 2016 and it’s making new owners very happy.
What makes electric bikes safer in London?
My experience of riding both electric bikes and pedal cycles, as well as conversations with other ebike riders, offers an answer: Yes, emphatically so. E-bikes are safer, faster and more fun. Continue reading “Electric bikes safer in London”
The New Wheel in San Francisco have produced this super little video that shows how an e-bike can have a powerful effect – improving your quality of life, your mood, your health and give you freedom you just do not get using public transport, schlepping around on foot or stuck in another traffic jam. Getting into Bristol by car is easy. The M32, A48 and A4 take you right into the heart of the city. This means that access from Bath, Cardiff, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Wiltshire is all relatively pain free.
Once you’re in the city, finding parking isn’t that hard. There are various multi-story car parks dotted around the city centre, all within a 5 minute walk to our shop. Most of our customers use the Holiday Inn NCP multi-story just across the road from us. This is well sign-posted on all approaches into the city.
If you’re planning a visit of a couple of hours to find that perfect Kalkhoff Electric bike, and don’t like the idea of paying through your nose in parking fees we have free parking around the back of the shop.
To get to our car park, you need to use the following address.
50cycles Car Park, Barrs Court, Bristol, BS1 3JP
Please call 50cycles Bristol on 0117 925 4419 before you plan to visit, so we can ensure that we do have a car park space for you at the time.
